3 injured in Sacramento house fire. Arson crews investigating incident in Lemon Hill area
Three people suffered minor injuries Thursday after a fire broke out at a Lemon Hill home, as firefighters detained and then released a “person of interest” in the incident, Sacramento fire officials said.
The Sacramento Fire Department was called just before 4 p.m. to a home at the corner of Iowa Avenue and 42nd Street for reports of a residential fire. Heavy flames swept through the home’s front as firefighters quickly sprayed water, the Fire Department said online.
Two people were taken to the hospital, said Capt. Justin Sylvia, a spokesman for the Fire Department. A person was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with minor burn injuries, according to archived radio dispatches.
Sylvia said a person of interest was detained at the scene but has been released. Arson investigators were called to the fire.
The investigation is ongoing into the fire’s cause, Sylvia said.
