Sacramento County volunteer coach sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting girl
A volunteer basketball coach at a Sacramento County elementary school was sentenced Friday to 32 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
Reshadd Hudson, 35, was convicted in Sacramento Superior Court in May of two counts of lewd acts on a child and three counts of forcible lewd acts on a child younger than 14 years old, prosecutors said.
Hudson “informally” assisted at Genevieve Didion TK-8 School in the Pocket neighborhood during which he forced a girl to perform oral sex on him and molested her. He also held the girl down on the ground and sexually assaulted her, according to a news release from the District Attorney’s Office.
“Hudson told the victim nobody would believe her if she told anyone,” the news release said. “The victim eventually disclosed the assaults to her family.”
It was also not immediately clear when the sexual assaults took place. Charges were filed against Hudson in April 2022, court records show.
Hudson will be eligible for release in about 18 years when he becomes 52 years old, prosecutors said, under a California law allowing for Elder Parole hearings.
On Monday, Hudson was at the downtown Sacramento County Main Jail, awaiting his transfer to state prison.
