Man killed, another injured after gunfire erupts in Sacramento’s North Oak Park

Homicide investigation

One man died and another was injured in the wee hours of Saturday morning after gunfire erupted in a residential neighborhood northwest of the intersection at Broadway and Stockton Boulevard.

“Just after 2:30 am, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of 4th Avenue,” said Officer Anthony Gamble, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department. “Responding officers located two male adults: One had at least one non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The other had a life-threatening gunshot wound.”

Homicide detectives and crime-scene investigators are investigating what happened, collecting evidence, and interviewing witnesses in the North Oak Park neighborhood, Gamble said, and they do not have a suspect at this time.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after relatives have been notified. Gamble asked anyone with any information to contact police at 916-808-5471.
