Separate shootings in Rancho Cordova leave two people with serious injuries, two under arrest

Police tape blocks entrance to a convenience store in San Luis Obispo County.

Separate Rancho Cordova shootings left two people seriously wounded late Monday and Tuesday morning and two people in custody.

A man was seriously hurt but expected to survive Tuesday after a 7:30 a.m. shooting at his home in the 10000 block of Charbono Way, said Sacramento County sheriff’s officials. Deputies detained a woman believed to have been in a relationship with the man in connection with the shooting. The man was taken to a hospital after being shot in the abdomen.

In an unconnected shooting about two miles west, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest outside a convenience store Monday night on the 10000 block of Mills Station Road.

The victim was recovering at a hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. Deputies also said that another juvenile, identified as a 16-year-old, was in custody in connection with the shooting.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
