Placer detectives investigate after man with gunshot wound found along rural road
Detectives were investigating a shooting in a rural area of western Placer County where sheriff’s deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound Wednesday morning.
Deputies found the wounded 51-year-old man about 7:40 a.m. in the area of Pleasant Grove and Riego roads, just east of the Sutter County line.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a man with a gunshot wound. The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, sheriff’s officials announced in a Facebook post.
Shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff’s officials said detectives were at the scene “working to piece together what happened.”
A few hours later, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Elise Soviar said the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. She also said detectives did not have any suspect descriptions to release.
