Lockdown lifted at Florin High School after bomb threat, Sacramento deputies say

Breaking News

A lockdown was lifted Monday at Florin High School after a bomb threat was made against the school, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said deputies were alerted to the bomb threat about 3 p.m. after a person called in the threat.

Students were still on campus while deputies in the bomb squad unit brought K9s to search the site, Gandhi said.

Pupils were dismissed as deputies supervised the pick up, Gandhi said.

Deputies searched the campus and cleared the campus, Gandhi said about 5:30 p.m.

He also noted no arrests have been made. An investigation was underway, he said.

“All students and staff are safe, and the site has been secured,” the Elk Grove Unified School District said in a message to its parents and the media before the bomb threat was lifted. “To ensure the safety of our students and staff, the campus will remain in lockdown until law enforcement lifts it.”
