Resident shoots man outside south Sacramento home; deputies investigating incident

Police tape at crime scene

A resident shot and critically wounded a man outside his south Sacramento home early Saturday and Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the incident.

No arrests have been made as investigators determine what led to the shooting. Sheriff’s officials say a resident called emergency dispatchers about 4 a.m. Saturday from the 7700 block of MacFadden Drive to say he shot someone outside his home.

Deputies arrived to find a man wounded and lying in the home’s driveway. He was taken by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responders to a hospital where he remains in critical condition and “on life support,” sheriff’s officials said Monday.

Sheriff’s detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357 (HELP).
