A suspect has been arrested in connection with a November daytime shooting that killed a man at an Upper Land Park housing complex, according to Sacramento police.

Chezvon Paige, 19, was taken into custody Tuesday and was being held without bail in the Sacramento County Main Jail.

The Nov. 3 shooting took place at the Alder Grove apartments at Kit Carson and Revere streets. When police arrived just before 1:30 p.m., they found a man inside a vehicle with one gunshot wound. He died at the scene, police spokesperson Officer Allison Smith said at the time.

The victim was identified by the Coroner’s Office as Dayshun Quemani Tylan Walker, 22, of Sacramento.

How police caught up with Paige was not disclosed, but police officials said that detectives “have been working relentlessly to identify and locate the suspect.”

Paige was also being held on two warrants, one for a felony charge of battery and a misdemeanor for driving without a license. He was expected to be arraigned on one murder charge Thursday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court.
