An accused robber who held a victim at gunpoint at the movie theater in Folsom’s Palladio shopping mall, which forced the evacuations of moviegoers and employees, was arrested Tuesday in El Dorado County, police said.

Folsom police arrived Sunday evening at the theater on Palladio Parkway with rifles to search the premises after the victim’s friend called 911 to report the robbery. The victim was threatened inside the theater and told by the robber he had people watching her, police said online.

Patrons watching the sole movie being screened at that time were ordered by police to walk out with their hands raised as employees left the premises.

Police officers then learned the robber had fled in the victim’s car, police said.

Investigators tracked the victim’s car and found it near the 4000 block of Mascot Avenue in Sacramento’s South Oak Park neighborhood. They identified a 20-year-old Sacramento man as a suspect in the incident and arrested him on suspicion of robbery and charges related to stealing a car.

The suspect is being held without bail in Sacramento County Main Jail and is scheduled for a hearing Friday in Sacramento Superior Court.
