Police arrested two people accused of stealing from multiple Targets, including more than $5,000 in baby formula, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

The baby formula theft was reported Friday, where two people allegedly ran out of a West Sacramento Target fire exit with a cart filled with $1,000 of baby formula and fled in a black Lexus, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. Officers located the car and learned the same vehicle was suspected in three other thefts from Targets in the area on the same day.

A short chase ensued with the suspects exiting the vehicle, running and jumping fences. The two people were arrested and it was later determined that $2,400 in baby formula was taken from the West Sacramento Target. Another $3,000 worth of formula was recovered from other thefts.
