6-year-old boy found safe, father arrested after alleged parental kidnapping in Rocklin

Missing person found

A 36-year-old man was arrested Saturday after being accused of kidnapping his 6-year-old son, of whom he did not have custody, one day earlier in Rocklin, law enforcement officials said.

The dad had been sought since around 5:40 p.m. Friday, when police said he took the boy from his aunt, according to Rocklin Police Department social media posts.

The Police Department in a 3:15 p.m. update said the boy was found safe and that his father was in custody.

The reported kidnapping prompted an endangered missing person alert from the California Highway Patrol, seeking the suspect and his vehicle. That alert has been deactivated.
