Teenage boy shot and killed in South Oak Park, Sacramento police say

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating an Oak Park shooting that killed a teenage boy Friday evening.

Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to a call from the 3600 block of 26th Avenue in South Oak Park, where they found the boy with at least one gunshot wound, said department spokesperson Officer Allison Smith. The boy was pronounced deceased at the scene after police attempted lifesaving measures, Smith said.

The Sacramento Police Department does not have a suspect in custody and no suspect information was immediately available.

Smith said the incident is currently being investigated.
