Sacramento County couple charged with child sex acts; deputies say victim was 9 years old
A Sacramento County couple charged with forcing a child into sex acts and videotaping the acts will face a February preliminary hearing after their arrest this week.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office investigators on Monday arrested Danil Keith Johnson, 35, and Jessica Janel Johnson, 33, on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child younger than 14; possessing child sex abuse materials; and using an underage person for an obscene matter.
The two entered not guilty pleas at their Sacramento Superior Court arraignment Wednesday afternoon to numerous counts connected to the alleged abuse. Johnson and Johnson were ordered to return Feb. 11 to Sacramento Superior Court to schedule a preliminary hearing on the allegations.
Sheriff’s officials in a statement Wednesday said their investigation began in October when Danil Johnson reported a video of a 9-year-old child performing sexual acts on Jessica Johnson, who also goes by Jessica Baker. Investigators later discovered that both adults allegedly made the child model for them in revealing clothing and that the modeling progressed to forced sex acts with Danil Johnson.
Jessica Johnson faces seven counts including knowingly using a child for obscene matter. Her bail is $300,000. She remains in Sacramento County Sheriff’s custody at Sacramento County Main Jail.
Danil Johnson’s allegations include two counts of possessing child sexual assault material with aggravating circumstances. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
