A young driver who died when he rolled his pickup early Sunday morning in south Sacramento County has been identified by the coroner.
The coroner’s website identifies the man as Dionicio Serrano, 20, of Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol said that Serrano was driving northbound on Persimmon Avenue just south of Orange Avenue at an unknown speed about 1:45 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of the truck and it rolled over.
Serrano and a 23-year-old passenger in the pickup were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Serrano died at the scene and the passenger was transported by ambulance to the hospital with critical injuries, according to a CHP press release.
