A Sacramento woman faces attempted kidnapping and battery charges after a fight with another woman in a Rocklin parking lot.

Rocklin police say the 29-year-old approached the woman and her 8-year-old child Monday afternoon in the lot in the 2100 block of Sunset Avenue and that their brief conversation turned physical before the alleged attacker fled. The child was not hurt.

Police searched the area and talked with witnesses, but city traffic cameras and police automated license plate readers ultimately led officers to their suspect.

Rocklin police say detectives tracked the woman to a hotel in the 5200 block of Date Avenue in Old Foothill Farms where she was arrested. The woman is being held at Placer County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond.
