Woman, 25, killed in Northern California vehicle collision identified. Driver arrested
A woman killed Saturday in a collision involving a vehicle that also struck another pedestrian in Truckee has been identified by the Nevada County Coroner’s Office.
The Truckee Police Department was called about 6 p.m. after a vehicle struck two pedestrians on Donner Pass Road near the Tahoe Donner boat launch.
One person died at the scene and another person was taken to a hospital with major injuries, police said in a news release.
The woman who died has been identified as Elizabeth Crane, 25, of West Lafayette, Indiana, said Ashley Quadros, a spokesperson with the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
A 22-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of vehicle manslaughter, a misdemeanor, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office jail log. The jail log lists his occupation as a ski lift operator.
The investigation is still ongoing. Tipsters with information about this case are asked to call the Truckee Police Department at 530-550-2320.
