Electronic equipment, including approximately 30 Apple iPads, was reported stolen Thursday night from Magnolia Intermediate School near the Nevada County community of Lake of the Pines.
The school, at 22431 Kingston Lane, north of Magnolia Road, was vandalized and burglarized sometime between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. Windows were broken throughout the school to gain entry to the buildings, according to a Nevada County Sheriff’s Office news release. Once inside, intruders took the iPads and at least two Apple iMac computers. Fire extinguishers also were discharged throughout the interior of the main building, causing additional damage.
Sheriff’s officials said school staff members are conducting a full inventory of the school to determine the extent of the theft.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the campus Thursday night, or who has other information pertaining to the crime, is asked to call the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit at 530-265-1471.
