A motorcyclist died after a collision with a vehicle Friday afternoon near Arden Creek.

Rocky Lay, 36, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Del Paso Boulevard when an unidentified eastbound vehicle struck him. Fire personnel took Lay to a hospital where the Sacramento resident was pronounced dead.

Sherry Lay, the victim’s older sister, said Rocky Lay was the last of her three brothers to die in the past year. Timothy Lay died in 2014 and Matthew Lay died in early 2015. Online records from the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office did not list a cause of death for either man.

Rocky Lay “was my baby brother; my closest brother,” said Sherry Lay, who said she did not know what caused the collision.

The Sacramento Major Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified.
