Police tape at crime scene

One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting late Sunday in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded just after 11 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 7600 block of Sweetbrier Way, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Officers found a man at the scene with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said in an update Monday morning.

A second man, also wounded by gunfire, arrived at a hospital on his own. Police said he was in stable condition Monday.

No suspect information was available, and police did not identify the victims. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Christopher Blackwell.
