A man died after an all-terrain vehicle overturned on top of him Saturday morning in the unincorporated Grass Valley area, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The man was driving down a steep roadway on a private ranch on Rincon Way at an unknown speed and made an unsafe turning movement, said Greg Tassone, CHP spokesman, in a news release. This caused him to be launched from the ATV, which then overturned on top of him and caused fatal injuries.
Others on the ranch began searching the property once they realized the man was missing. He was then found and emergency personnel responded, declaring him dead at the scene, Tassone said.
The man was not identified pending notification of next-of-kin.
