Man found dead in North Sacramento homicide as police investigate

Sacramento police are investigating a homicide after officers found a man dead Wednesday morning in the city’s Old North Sacramento corridor.

Officers responded just before 8:15 a.m. to the 700 block of Dixieanne Avenue, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Police Department spokesman.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were working to determine how the man died.

The man was identified by the Coroner’s Office as Durand Clark Pottinger, 33, of Sacramento.
