Call about loud party preceded deadly south Sacramento shooting, police say
Sacramento police are investigating the relation between a complaint about a loud party and a shooting that left a man dead late Thursday in south Sacramento’s Valley Hi/North Laguna neighborhood.
The shooting just after 10:30 p.m. brought officers to the 4300 block of Armadale Way, where they found the unidentified man with at least one gunshot wound, the Sacramento Police Department said in a social media post.
Sacramento Police Department officials later Friday morning said officers received reports just before 10 p.m. of a loud party on the block bordered by Mack Road to the north and Franklin Boulevard to the east.
Sacramento Fire Department personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Homicide and department crime scene investigators were later called to the scene. Detectives will be investigating the two incidents for a possible connection, officials said Friday.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 23-year-old Dupri Marques McKinnie.
