The man who died after an all-terrain vehicle overturned on top of him Saturday in the Grass Valley area has been identified.
Elder Mariano Morataya Guerra, 50, of Guatemala was thrown from his ATV after he made an unsafe turning movement while driving down a steep roadway on a private ranch on Rincon Way, officials said.
“The initial cause of death is blunt-force trauma,” Sgt. Mike Sullivan of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
Guerra was working at the ranch, according to the sheriff’s office. He was missing for one hour before being discovered.
