Sacramento police investigate deadly Upper Land Park shooting

Sacramento police are investigating a deadly shooting in the city’s Upper Land Park.

The shooting just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 50 block of Seavey Circle left a man critically wounded, said the Sacramento Police Department. Officers found the unidentified man with a gunshot wound and firefighters transported him to a hospital as officers searched for the gunman.

A Police Department spokesperson just before midnight said the man was pronounced dead at the hospital and had no information on a suspect or motive for the shooting.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was expected to identify the man pending family member notification.

Sacramento homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the case late Wednesday.
