A man found guilty of burglarizing homes in Sacramento’s River Park neighborhood has been sentenced to seven years and four months in prison.
Alejandro Arroyo, 21, was convicted in June of two counts of first-degree residential burglary, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release. He was sentenced Friday by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Donald Currier.
Between Jan. 10 and March 12, 2014, seven residential burglaries were committed in houses near the levee in the River Park area.
One victim’s home was burglarized three times. His house was ransacked and nearly $20,000 worth of valuables, including a medallion, were stolen. The second break-in was caught on surveillance video.

Another victim returned home to find the power to the residence had been shut off and he could not get into his garage. When he entered the house, he found it had been ransacked and a glass door in the rear of the house had been shattered. A flat-screen TV and two rifles were stolen, along with other valuable items worth close to $19,000, authorities said.
