Teenage boy dies after Meadowview shooting, Sacramento police say

Homicide investigation

A teenage boy shot late Tuesday night in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood has died, authorities said.

The shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Coral Gables Court, according to the Sacramento Police Department. The victim, described only as a male juvenile about 15 years old, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Officers and fire personnel responded to the scene and provided aid before the teen was transported.

Police officials had no suspect information or any additional information on the victim Wednesday. Homicide and crime scene investigators have taken over the case, they said.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim once relatives are notified.

Sacramento Police Department officials are asking anyone with information to call dispatchers at 916-808-5471.
