A 70-year-old Sacramento man and a 63-year-old woman from La Pine, Ore., died Wednesday night when the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a collision on Highway 99 in Sutter County.
The man and his passenger were riding a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Highway 99 south of Howsley Road about 9:30 p.m. The motorcycle changed lanes, and the front of a Dodge Ram truck collided with the rear of the motorcycle, according to a California Highway Patrol news release. The driver and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle.
A Toyota sedan driven by a Marysville woman then collided with the motorcycle, causing the Toyota to overturn and come to rest on its roof in the left lane. A Ford driven by another Marysville woman struck debris, resulting in damage to the right side and right rear tire of the Ford.
The motorcyclists were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released pending notification of family.
