Elk Grove police are investigating a shooting that wounded a man during a fight outside a party Monday.

Officers responded just after midnight to reports of gunfire near Scheurebe Place and Rhone River Drive in eastern Elk Grove, police said in a social media statement.

The man had been shot in the leg following an altercation outside a party in the neighborhood, according to officers at the scene.

He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police have not released information on a suspect or any arrests.
