Sheriff’s officials on Wednesday announced that authorities have identified the body of a 48-year-old man whose remains were found last week by a father and his son along the side of a Northern California dirt road.

Sheriff’s officials said the father and son immediately called 911. Sheriff’s deputies and detectives arrived at the scene and confirmed human remains had been found.
