A 26-year-old man died Friday after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a power pole in Rancho Cordova.
The man was driving eastbound on White Rock Road around 10:45 a.m. when police believe he lost control and crossed the road into the westbound lanes. He then crashed into a power pole.
The driver became trapped inside the vehicle and his male passenger was injured, according to police. Emergency responders were able to remove the driver from the wreckage and take him to a hospital, but he died. His name has not been released.
The passenger was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
