Early morning shooting in West Sacramento leaves one injured

One person was injured in a shooting that occurred in West Sacramento early Monday morning, according to the West Sacramento Police Department. The incident is under active investigation, department spokesperson Hector Torres said in a statement.

Officers from the police department responded to a shooting in the Northeast Village neighborhood, near Essex Avenue and Kinsington Street, at 3:30 a.m.

The individual was transported to a hospital, Torres said, and they remain in a stable condition.

Torres said no additional information about the incident would be shared to protect the integrity of the investigation.
