Sheriff: Man wounded in Franklin Boulevard shooting dies at hospital

A man shot and wounded Wednesday morning in the Lemon Hill section of south Sacramento has died at the hospital, Sacramento County Sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said the man was shot in the 6200 block of Franklin Boulevard just after 8 a.m. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District paramedics performed CPR on the gunshot victim, sheriff’s officials said, before transporting him to a hospital where he later died, said Sheriff’s Office just before 10:30 a.m.

The man’s assailant fled following the shooting, but deputies had detained two people near 47th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard just before 9 a.m. Wednesday believed to be connected to the gun attack.
