Investigators confiscated nearly 5 pounds of methamphetamine and arrested two men last month when they served search warrants at two Yolo County homes.
The search warrants were served on the morning of Sept. 18 at a home in Winters and another in Woodland, the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday in a Facebook post.
Sheriff’s detectives had launched an investigation into suspected meth sales in Yolo County. The detectives identified a 39-year-old Woodland man as a “mid-level methamphetamine dealer” selling meth distributing in Woodland and Winters, along with rural Yolo County communities, sheriff’s officials said.
The detectives served the search warrants simultaneously that morning with help from West Sacramento Police Department detectives.
At the Woodland home, investigators found and detained the suspected meth dealer. Sheriff’s officials said detectives also found at the home a quarter-pound of meth hidden in a couch, several thousand dollars in cash and materials used to sell drugs.
Further investigation revealed a stash location allegedly linked to a 61-year-old Winters man living in a housing complex. At the Winters home, detectives found more than 4.4 pounds of meth, materials used to sell drugs and a SKS semi-automatic rifle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives arrested both men and booked them narcotics sales and criminal conspiracy charges at the Yolo County Jail, sheriff’s officials said.
Custody records show that both men, as of Sept. 19, had been released from the jail after posting bail bond. Yolo Superior Court records show prosecutors have not yet formally filed criminal charges against the two men, and their arraignments have not been scheduled.
