Coroner identifies man killed when he crashed vehicle into Rancho Cordova power pole
The man killed Friday after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a power pole in Rancho Cordova has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Jonathon Long, 26, of Rancho Cordova was driving eastbound on White Rock Road around 10:45 a.m., when police say he lost control and crossed the road into the westbound lanes. Moments later, the vehicle crashed into a power pole.
Emergency responders removed Long from the car, but he died at an area hospital. A male passenger was treated for minor injuries.
Rancho Cordova police say they believe speed might have been a factor in the accident, but additional information is being sought from anyone who may have witnessed the crash. The Rancho Cordova Police Department’s Traffic Unit can be reached at 916-875-9623.
