Victim, 18, in deadly Elk Grove bar shooting ID’d as Southern California man
Sacramento County coroner’s officials have identified the 18-year-old Southern California man fatally shot at an Elk Grove nightclub early Sunday.
Kim Kha Huynh, 18, of Chino Hills, about 35 miles east of Los Angeles, was shot dead inside Z Town Asian Gastro Bar in the 8400 block of Elk Grove Florin Road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after what Elk Grove Police Department said was an apparent argument. Three other men were wounded in the shooting.
One, a 34-year-old man, remains in critical condition at a hospital, said department officials.
Huynh’s suspected shooter, Roderick Bernard Randall, 43, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Randall is described as 5-foot-7, 173 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Randall is also known by the aliases Roderick Brian Randall and Fatso Irving, said California Department of Justice officials.
Randall’s girlfriend, 25-year-old Thao Kim Tran, is scheduled to appear Thursday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court on charges of being an accessory to a crime and assault with a deadly weapon. Tran, arrested Tuesday by Elk Grove police, remains held without bail at Sacramento County Main Jail.
