Police seek driver in fatal south Sacramento hit-and-run that killed pedestrian

A man was killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run collision in south Sacramento, and police are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver.

The crash happened just before 9:15 p.m. at Fruitridge and Power Inn roads, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Officers and Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived to find an unidentified man who died at the scene.

Investigators from the department’s Major Collision Investigations and Crime Scene Investigation units responded. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the 41-year-old man’s identity after notifying next of kin.

Sacramento police are asking any witnesses with information about the collision to call dispatchers at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357.
