Deputies arrest 3 in woman’s October robbery outside south Sacramento supermarket
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men and a juvenile Wednesday in connection with an October robbery outside a south Sacramento supermarket.
Deputies had sought the three suspects — a 17-year-old boy and two men, ages 23 and 22 — since the Oct. 22 robbery outside SF Supermarket in the 6900 block of 65th Street, where a 57-year-old woman was robbed and dragged as she unloaded groceries in the parking lot.
The suspects were in a car that parked beside the woman. Sheriff’s officials said the juvenile grabbed the woman’s purse and tried to pull her toward the vehicle. The woman struggled with the boy before he climbed back into the car while still holding the purse. The driver sped off, dragging the woman a short distance before she fell, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies located the vehicle at a nearby residence shortly after the incident and held it as evidence.
The 22-year-old suspect had been arrested weeks earlier in an unrelated robbery while going to Sacramento Superior Court for an unrelated matter, deputies said. Jail records showed he was also being held on a warrant for 2023 charges of felony possession of a concealed weapon, felony possession of a loaded firearm, and misdemeanor driving without a license.
Both adult suspects are being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail and are scheduled to appear in court Friday. The juvenile was booked into Sacramento County juvenile custody, sheriff’s officials said.
