Shooting in Del Paso Heights leaves one man dead, Sacramento police say

A man died after a shooting Friday afternoon in North Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers responded around 2:45 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Harris Avenue in the Del Paso Heights neighborhood. They found a man with at least one gunshot wound and attempted lifesaving measures before he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests had been made as of Friday evening, and the investigation remained ongoing. Police had not released any suspect information or the identity of the victim.
