Two men who attended a party Saturday in Stockton, where a mass shooting killed four people and wounded 13 others, were arrested on suspicion of violating parole.

It’s unclear what the parolees allegedly did that led to their arrests, but California prison officials and local authorities made it clear the two men have not been implicated in the deadly shooting.

Gunfire erupted shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday at the Monkey Space hall, in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in an unincorporated area of Stockton. More than a dozen people in the crowded venue were hit by gunfire. Three children, ages 8, 9, and 14, as well as a 21-year-old man were killed in the shooting.

The total number of shooting victims at the child’s birthday party increased to 17 after authorities learned of two men who were grazed by bullets. Both men had attended the party and suffered minor injuries in the shooting before seeking medical treatment at a nearby hospital without immediately alerting authorities.

Law enforcement officers investigate on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, the site of a mass shooting near Stockton the night before. Authorities said four were killed and 13 were injured in the shooting outside a child's birthday party.

Luciano Guerrero, 22, and Billy Williams, 25, were booked Monday at the San Joaquin County Jail, custody records show. They remained in custody Tuesday afternoon.

Agents with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation arrested Guerrero and Williams on suspicion of violating parole, said Mary Xjimenez, a CDCR spokesperson.

Xjimenez said Guerrero and Williams were at the child’s birthday party Saturday evening when the mass shooting occurred, but the two men are not considered suspects. The CDCR spokesperson referred all further questions about the shooting to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Heather Brent, a San Joaquin County sheriff’s spokesperson, said the parolees’ arrest was not linked to the mass shooting, and she had no further information to provide about their arrests. Brent said investigators need more information from witnesses at the party, where 100 to 150 people were in attendance. As of Tuesday evening, no arrests in direct connection to the shooting had been made.

KCRA was the first to report news on Tuesday about the parolees’ arrest.

Guerrero was admitted into CDCR custody on Oct. 6, 2023, after a San Joaquin County conviction of carrying a loaded firearm in public while being an active gang member, Xjimenez said. Guerrero’s conviction also included charges of evading or attempting to evade a police officer while driving recklessly. He was sentenced to two years in prison for that conviction.

Xjimenez said Williams was admitted into CDCR custody on Nov. 12, 2021, after a San Joaquin County conviction of corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition with an enhancement of inflicting great bodily injury involving domestic violence. His conviction included a charge of child endangerment. He was sentenced to three years in prison for that conviction.
