1 dead after overnight shooting in Old North Sacramento, police say

Police are investigating an early Saturday shooting in Old North Sacramento that left one man dead.

Officers responded just after 12:30 a.m. to a reported shooting in the 900 block of Eleanor Avenue, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release. Arriving officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Homicide detectives are investigating. No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning and no suspect information was available.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the dispatch center at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Callers can stay anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
