1 arrested, 1 suspect at large after Citrus Heights armed robbery, chase
One person was arrested and another person is wanted in connection with an armed robbery Saturday, the Citrus Heights Police Department said in a release.
Around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an armed robbery at a business in the 6400 block of Sunrise Boulevard. According to the release, “a firearm was used” before two suspects fled the scene.
The suspect vehicle was located driving “erratically” through the city by the department’s real time information center officer. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop the vehicle when it entered the county’s jurisdiction, leading to a brief pursuit before the vehicle crashed into an embankment by an apartment complex near Hillsdale Boulevard and Greenholme Drive, according to the release. Both suspects fled on foot.
The driver was apprehended and has prior convictions for being an armed felon and an outstanding warrant, according to the department.
The passenger has not been apprehended and is wanted for armed robbery.
The department asks anyone with information about the second suspect to call the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 800-222-7463 to report anonymously. A cash reward is available for information leading to his arrest.
