Sacramento jurors convict delivery driver of lewd acts upon a child

in the courts

Sacramento jurors convicted a delivery driver who molested a 12-year-old at the child’s home in 2023, said Sacramento County District Attorney’s officials Wednesday.

Prosecutors said Mohammad Salarzai, 64, delivered a package to the child’s home on July 17, 2023, where he convinced the child to let him inside to use the bathroom. Once inside, Salarzai molested the child, including touching his chest and rubbing his thigh. The child was able to leave the house, said District Attorney’s officials.

Sacramento Superior Court jurors in their Feb. 26 verdict, found Salarzai guilty of two counts of lewd acts upon a child, and a single count of a forcible lewd act upon a child.

Salarzai remains held without bail at Sacramento County Main Jail. He faces a maximum sentence of 26 years in state prison at sentencing April 17 before Sacramento Superior Court Judge Donald Currier.
