Sacramento police search for driver in hit-and-run that killed man in Robla

Police continue their search for a driver who fled a crash that killed a pedestrian Saturday night in North Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers were called just after 8 p.m. to Norwood and Jessie avenues in the Robla neighborhood for reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a car. They found a 44-year-old unhoused man in the roadway and attempted life-saving measures, police said.

Firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after relatives have been notified of his death.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the collision. One driver fled before officers arrived, while the other remained at the scene.

Officers did not share a description of the suspect vehicle and said the crash remains under investigation.
