A licensed physician has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a patient at a medical marijuana evaluation center in Sacramento County.
Logan Vincent Ford, 31, was arrested Tuesday in Oakland on suspicion of offenses involving rape, sexual assault and sexual exploitation by a physician, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release. He is being held in the Sacramento County jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
Sheriff’s officials said the arrest came after an investigation into a patient’s complaint revealed evidence of a sexual assault during a medical evaluation.
In March, the patient visited a medical marijuana evaluation center in the 2100 block of Watt Avenue to obtain a medical marijuana prescription. During the medical examination, the patient reported that Ford sexually assaulted her, sheriff’s officials said. The investigation led to Ford’s arrest Tuesday on an arrest warrant signed by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
