Woman arrested in South Natomas stabbing; victim remains in critical condition
Sacramento police arrested a 32-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed Tuesday evening in South Natomas, authorities said.
Officers responded about 6:30 p.m. to reports of a stabbing near West El Camino Drive and Gateway Oaks Avenue in the Gateway Center neighborhood, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Police found the victim at a Speedway gas station suffering from at least one stab wound. Investigators determined the stabbing occurred nearby.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where she remained Wednesday morning, Sacramento police Officer Anthony Gamble said.
Officers detained and interviewed a woman Tuesday night. After what Gamble described as a thorough investigation, detectives booked Patricia Ann Dyer, 32, into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
Although police said Dyer was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, jail records show she was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $50,000.
Dyer was also held on three misdemeanor warrants totaling $16,500, bringing her total bail to $66,500.
The warrants stemmed from a 2020 case involving possession of narcotic paraphernalia and possession or use of a weapon in a county park, and two 2025 cases involving camping and storing property in prohibited areas.
Dyer was scheduled to appear in Sacramento Superior Court on Friday.
