Suspect caught after Sacramento man dies from stab wounds in North Sac attack
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing Wednesday morning in North Sacramento, according to authorities.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified William Thomas Costanzo, 26, of Sacramento, as the man killed.
Officers responded just before 11 a.m. to reports of a stabbing in the 900 block of Del Paso Boulevard, Sacramento Police Department spokesperson Officer Anthony Gamble said.
Responding officers found a man suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“A person of interest is detained,” Gamble said Wednesday night. “Due to circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded out to take over the investigation.”
Sacramento County jail records identified the suspect as a 46-year-old man, who was booked late Wednesday. Police said they expected to announce the suspect’s name later in the day.
The man faces one felony murder charge and is being held without bail, according to jail records. He is scheduled to be arraiged Friday in Sacramento Superior Court.
