Yuba City police arrest 25-year-old for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor

A 25-year-old Yuba City man who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor has been arrested, the Yuba City Police Department announced Thursday.

Yuba City police received a report of a sexual assault involving a juvenile victim on May 26. According to the report, the incident occurred in late April in Yuba City.

After gathering digital evidence, conducting witness interviews and executing search warrants, investigators obtained and served an arrest warrant Tuesday for the Yuba City man, according to a department statement.

The suspect was booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of rape of an intoxicated person, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor more than three years younger, child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Detectives said the investigation remained active and asked anyone with information about the case to contact the Yuba City Police Department.
