Fentanyl, meth seized in cross-county drug raid, Northern CA deputies said
Officials arrested eight people and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine and firearms during a multi-county Northern California drug raid last week, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday morning.
The arrests followed a two-month investigation led by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office. On June 11, with assistance from the Yuba City, Marysville and Sacramento police departments, deputies served five search warrants across three counties, arresting eight suspects, including a 54-year-old Yuba City man accused of drug trafficking and firearm possession who was the focus of the investigation, according to a Sheriff’s Office statement.
During the operation, which spanned Sutter County, Marysville and Sacramento, authorities seized nearly 325 grams of methamphetamine, 274 suspected counterfeit fentanyl pills, powdered fentanyl and narcotics packaging and manufacturing paraphernalia. They also found several thousand rounds of ammunition and seven firearms, two of which were reported stolen.
All eight individuals were arrested and booked on various drug- and weapons-related charges. Their identities have not been released by the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office.
One 54-year-old Yuba City man was arrested near Woodbridge Avenue and Wilbur Avenue in Yuba City. He was on active post-release probation from Sacramento County and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine for sale, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an assault weapon, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, violating terms of his supervision, receiving stolen property and bringing contraband into a custodial facility.
