A Stockton man was arrested during an apparent dug transaction Wednesday, Galt police officials announced in a social media statement.

Galt Police Department officers attempted to stop a vehicle involved in an apparent drug transaction at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Pine Street. The driver, a 34-year-old Stockton man, fled in the vehicle before continuing on foot after striking a curb, leading officers on a chase.

With the aid of the Folsom Police Department K-9 Unit, Galt police officers established a perimeter and eventually took the man into custody. Police said he had two outstanding felony warrants from another county and was on parole.

Officers also searched the man’s vehicle and seized 13 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of heroin, multiple smoking pipes and syringes.

The Stockton man was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of evading police, resisting an officer, possession of controlled substances with intent to sell if applicable; otherwise leave as possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and the outstanding felony warrants.
