Mail theft suspect booked into Sacramento jail

Sacramento police have arrested a man suspected of snooping around mailboxes and being in possession of stolen mail.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of Nogales Street in the Hagginwood neighborhood Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report of a man peering into mailboxes.

When officers arrived, they saw a vehicle leaving the area which they were able to pull over for a violation. The driver, Eric Scott Clark, 31, was allegedly found in possession of mail from neighborhood residents.

A search of his home by police turned up more mail, along with ammunition and narcotics paraphernalia. Clark, who is on probation, was arrested on various charges including possession of stolen property.
